Rainbow Girls Share Leadership Lessons at the 143rd Annual Grand Lodge of Arizona

At the 143rd Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Arizona, members of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and our local girls of Sunrise Assembly No. 39 had a unique opportunity to share their leadership experience and connect with Masonic leaders from across the state. The event, held this year as part of the statewide gathering of Freemasons, included a special presentation by the Rainbow Girls’ Grand Officers—a group of young women who serve in statewide leadership roles.

In their presentation, the girls explained how their organization mirrors many aspects of the Masonic Lodge, especially when it comes to leadership structure and personal development. Each Rainbow Assembly (the term for a local chapter) has a series of offices—similar to elected positions—through which the girls learn responsibility, teamwork, and public speaking. Many of these offices share names and functions with those found in a Masonic Lodge, such as Worthy Advisor (similar to the Worshipful Master in Masonry), Treasurer, Recorder, and more.

The Grand Officers used this opportunity not only to educate but to highlight the strong bond between Rainbow and Freemasonry. Many of the Rainbow Girls are daughters, granddaughters, or relatives of Masons, and their involvement helps strengthen the connection between generations and Masonic families.

The Rainbow Girls' presence at this important event served as a powerful reminder of how the values of leadership, service, and moral character are being passed on to the next generation. We’re proud of our girls and the way they continue to represent our Masonic family with grace, confidence, and purpose.
