This past weekend, our Rainbow Girls packed their bags, grabbed their cosplay, and headed to downtown Phoenix for an unforgettable adventure at Phoenix Fan Fusion, Arizona’s largest comic convention. It was a weekend filled with laughter, fandom, bonding, and more than a few superheroes!
For many of the girls, this was their first time attending a large convention—and for some, their first overnight trip without their families. From posing with their favorite characters to attending panels and exploring the vendor hall, the girls made memories that will last a lifetime. But more than that, they did it together—as sisters.
That’s what makes Rainbow so special. Yes, it’s a youth leadership organization. Yes, the girls learn responsibility, public speaking, and community service. But they also form deep friendships and have opportunities to explore the world in safe, supportive, and exciting ways. Events like this trip help our members grow in confidence and independence, all while having fun and feeling like they belong.
The girls planned much of the trip themselves—with adult advisors nearby for safety and guidance—giving them the chance to practice decision-making, time management, and teamwork. Whether it was budgeting for meals, organizing their cosplay plans, or choosing which events to attend, they took ownership of their experience and supported one another every step of the way.
If you’ve ever wondered what Rainbow is like, this trip is a perfect example. It’s a place where girls can learn, grow, and become leaders—but also be themselves, have fun, and create the kind of memories they’ll talk about for years to come.
